I played ten years, the bass and guitar. I'm impressed, but some models of vintage guitars and basses lack of color in places, why is that?
Examples: "Jaco" Pastorius in, biting bass, guitar, John Frusciante "... etc.

Guitars "used to" finish with nitrocellulose that moresusceptible heat / humidity / dry air, so that the new instruments. still happens with new instruments, but the process may take longer.
It depends on how the instrument is very well managed. I have a 2001 Stratocaster, who swear some it is a vintage guitar, but really ...
